Ohio Finishes in 17th-Place in the 2012 Firestone Invitational
< < Back to ohio-finishes-17th-place-2012-firestone-invitationalOhio Men’s Golf finished in 17th-place on Tuesday afternoon after its second and final round of a shortened 2012 Firestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio.
After a team score of 307 in the first round on Monday, the Bobcats improved by one stroke on Tuesday to finish with a score of 306, six strokes behind the three teams tied at 14th-place ahead of them (Wisconsin, Illinois State, and Bowling Green).
Individually, Sean Bosdosh of Maryland was the champion with scores of 69 and 70, ending with a 139. Tyler Merkel of Ball State was the runner-up with scores of 68 and 72, coming up one stroke behind Bosdosh with a score of 140.
Bradley Lucas was the top performer for the Bobcats, scoring a 75 in both rounds to total 150, finishing tied for 41st-place.
Byron Firestone was close behind Lucas, tallying scores of 77 and 75 to total 152 and finish tied for 51st-place.
Connor Coldwater tied for 74th-place with scores of 78 and 77, while Brad Burgess contributed two scores of 79 to tie for 82nd-place. Michael Lamping rounded out the scoring for the Bobcats, adding a 77 and an 82 to total a 159 and a tie for 86th-place.
Ohio tees off next at the 2012 Ball State Individuals competition on Oct. 15 and 16.
