< < Back to ohio-swimming-and-diving-defeats-marshallThe Ohio swimming and diving team defeated Marshall Tuesday, 167-116, to advance to 2-2 in dual-meets.
The 200-yard medley team of Anastasia Bocharnikova, Tori Bagan, Caroline Meyer and Lauren Funk started off the day by barely edging out Marshall to win the event. With a time of 1:48.98, Ohio beat Marshall by just under a second.
In the 1,000-yard freestyle Ohio won by over 5 seconds, a dominant victory. Ohio proceeded to win the next two events but failed to place in the top two in the 100-yard breaststroke.
During the diving stage, Ohio dominated like it has all season long.
On the 1-meter platform, the Bobcats claimed the top four places, snatching up 18 points in the process.
The Bobcats also took the top four places on the 3-meter board and gained an additional 18 points, as Kristin Capick set a pool record with her event score of 313.80.
Ohio divers Kristin Capcik, Morgan Srail, MaryRose Hillstrom and Haleigh Bartlett have been a big part of the team’s success all year, and Tuesday was no different.
Ohio will next take on West Virginia on Saturday, Jan. 29.
