Paper Circle: Opening Night: Spirits Within and Without by Barbara A. Fisher. “My entire life has been spent seeing colors underneath the surface of life, and sensing the spirits that reside in the everyday landscape around me. Growing up in West Virginia, and spending time in a city filled with old houses that’s surrounded by forests dark and deep, wandering the urban landscape and the rural surroundings of my grandparents’ farm, I learned to see beneath the outer appearances of everything. People are filled with light, animals have spirits that can speak, trees are made of color and love and buildings and streets whisper when nighttime comes. Magical realism is my world, and is my life, and that is completely reflected in my mixed media artworks”.
