Social Media To Be Used To Inform During Athens Halloween Block Party
< < Back to social-media-be-used-inform-during-athens-halloween-block-partyThe City of Athens has launched several social networking sites to help communicate information about the Halloween Block Party.
Athens County Public Information Officers are working with the city to help compile this information on a blog, Twitter, and a Facebook page.
These sites are already active and open to the public.
Public Information Officer Dan Pfeiffer says a low-power AM radio will play a continuous public service announcement Saturday offering information about the block party, schedules of events, and tips on how to stay safe.
"A lot of people coming from out of town, that don't get those flyers, but they will go on the internet and look and see what they can find about the event, and this is there for them and anybody else," says Pfeiffer.
Pfeiffer says the community has been actively involved with these sites, and that's why they were created.
