Sewer Plan Focuses On Three Perry County Communities
< < Back to sewer-plan-focuses-three-perry-county-communitiesThe Perry County Commissioners will examine three unsewered areas in an effort to address public health hazards.
According to an Ohio Environmental Protection Agency press release, homes in the Rehobeth, Old Rainier Road and Moore's Junction (also known as Six Mile Turn) areas discharge untreated sewage into Rush Creek and Moxahala Creek. Approximately 100 homes have inadequate sewer disposal systems.
EPA testing showed significant counts of fecal coliform, E. Coli and odors in streets, ditches, and stream crossings.
Commissioners have agreed to develop a plan to alleviate the health concerns.
The plan will address sewage improvements and pollution issues.
