Marietta Men’s Soccer Drops Fourth Straight
< < Back to marietta-mens-soccer-drops-fourth-straightThe Marietta Pioneers men’s soccer team dropped its fourth straight match, as it lost to the Transylvania Pioneers, 3-0, at home on Saturday.
The Transylvania defense stifled the Marietta offensive attack all game, as the Pioneers only got two shots off in the game. Meanwhile, the Transylvania Pioneers managed 12 shots and six on goal.
Transylvania took a 1-0 in the 14th minute when senior forward Eric Froaschauer scored his third goal of the season. Kyle Smith picked up the assist on the goal. Smith then scored a goal of his own in the 27th minute when his penalty kick found the back of the net, giving Transylvania the 2-0 lead.
Conner Clark scored Transylvania’s third and final goal of the day in the 54th minute.
Marietta (1-4) will aim to get back on track in its next game, which comes against Bethany College (2-4) on Wednesday. Transylvania (4-2 ) will be in action on Tuesday against Thomas Moore College (3-1).
