Three Muskingum County School Board Races Finish Close

Muskingum County saw three tight school board races come to narrow finishes Tuesday, according to unofficial results from the Muskingum County Board of Elections.
For the Zanesville City School district's race for school board member, Vicky L. French and Scott T. Bunting got 1,784 and 1,426 votes, respectively, clearly beating out Anne Hoffer's 1,426 votes.
Preliminary results show that Marc Carpenter and Larry McCutcheon beat out John Coler for the Franklin Local School District board member position. Carpenter and McCutcheon received 1,349 and 1,200 votes, respectively, compared to Coler's 1,097.
Tri-Valley Local School District's school board position saw an equally close race, with Russel Wagner clearly winning with 1,606 votes and Eddie Brock's 1,416 votes edging out Scott Welker's 1,402 votes.
Muskingum County's results showed 25.43 percent voter participation, with 13,430 voting out of 52,803 registered voters.
