< < Back to lhs-visual-arts-students-fare-well-governors-youth-art-exhibitionLogan High School Visual Arts students once again fared well at the state level during the final judging for the Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition.
Seven young artists claimed their place in the annual exhibition and its two cameo shows.
Special recognition goes to Sydney McCord, whose entry A Study in Nature was selected from a field of more than 12,000 statewide entries to be a part of the prestigious 300-piece show.
In addition to Sydney, Jordan Frasure’s Blitzkrieg, Stephanie Hayden’s Noble Professions, Madison Murray’s Violet and Lillian Van Dyke’s Confined were among 25 works named to be a part of the State Department of Education Display.
Also selected for exhibition were Nikki Kessler’s Ferrett Chaser and Alexis Morehead’s Shine Bright, which will join the 25 pieces selected to hang in the Governor’s Office Display.
The State Department of Education and the Governor’s Office cameo displays are, unfortunately, closed to the public.
The Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition will open at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 13, at the James A. Rhodes State Office Tower in Columbus, following a noon awards ceremony in the Riffe Center, Capitol Theatre.
The show will be open weekdays April 13 through May 15 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be closed on weekends.
