Ohio University recently applied for a liquor license to allow the purchase of alcoholic beverages at football and basketball games.

The University requested two liquor licenses; one for Peden Stadium and the other for the Convocation Center.

Donors would be the only spectators permitted to purchase these beverages in the Rhor Room at the Convocation Center and the third and fourth floors of Peden Stadium.

City Council President, Jim Sands, said the Director of Ohio Universiy Athletics, Jim Schaus, sent a letter to Athen's City Council dated August 22, asking for the license.

The letter was addressed at the City Council Meeting Tuesday evening.

According to city council, the final decision is in the hands of the state liquor control.
