Perry County Judge Facing Hit And Run Charges

A report from the Columbus Police Department states that a black Mercedes driven by Wilson sideswiped a COTA bus on West Spring Street. The reports states the bus was traveling west on West Spring when the car driven by Wilson changed lanes, the driver’s side of Wilson’s car struck near the rear of the bus. The accident was reports at 9:34 Sunday evening.
The report says the car driven by Wilson then left the scene of the accident. At least nine people were aboard the bus at the time of the accident including the driver who provided police with a description and the license plate number of the car driven by Wilson, which was stopped by police as it was traveling east towards the interstate.
Wilson refused a breath test for alcohol and was eventually charged with hit/skip and OVI.
Two passengers were in the car driven by Wilson, they were not injured in the accident and no injuries were reported among the bus passengers.
Judge Wilson is scheduled to appear Wednesday in a Columbus court to answer to the charges filed.
