Dalton Steps Down As Lady Buckeyes Coach
< < Back to dalton-steps-down-as-lady-buckeyes-coachAmanda Dalton, coach of the Nelsonville-York Lady Buckeyes basketball team, announced that she is stepping down from her position after being accepted into the Principal Preparation Program, according to the Athens Messenger.
She informed the team of her decision on Wednesday.
During her six seasons at Nelsonville-York, she posted a record of 74-57, going 38-10 throughout the past two seasons.
She led this year’s team to 21 wins, which is a school record for most wins in a single season. Dalton also led the Lady Buckeyes to win the school’s first-ever district title in the 2013-2014 season.
Dalton is leaving a talented, young team. Freshman Jessie Addis and junior Kaitlyn Hurd had solid years, and the sophomores showed great improvement as well. With only one departing senior, Madison Davis, the Lady Buckeyes are a team that many have as a top contender in the TVC and one of the top Div. III teams in Southeast Ohio.
