SEOAL

  1. Logan Chiefains 2-0 (0-0) | Last rank: 1 | Next opponent: Vs. Meigs

Question marks arose after the Athens Bulldogs dumped 49 points on the Chieftain defense during week one. Logan enacted a 100 percent turn around in its 27-7 week two victory by shutting down a Teays Valley team that had scored 73 points in its two previous games.

2.) Jackson Ironmen 2-0 (0-0) | Last rank: 2 | Next opponent: @ West Jefferson

The Ironmen are less explosive than the Chieftains, but they have put together consistent defensive performances. This includes a 19-16 overtime victory over former conference rival Chillicothe.

3.) Gallia Academy Blue Devils 0-2 (0-0) | Last rank: 3 | Next opponent: @ Washington

The Blue Devils have lost to two undefeated teams in relatively close fashion this season. Their best shot to pick up win No. 1 will come on Friday against the Washington Blue Lions because Marietta and Point Pleasant, their week four and five opponents, have allowed a combined 13 points in 2015.

4,) Warren Warriors 0-2 (0-0) | Last rank: 4 | Next opponent: Vs. Athens

The Warriors have been outshined on both sides of the ball through two games, dropping said games by a combined score of 69-0.

Mid-State League

 1.) Bloom Carroll Bulldogs 2-0 (1-0) | Last rank: 1 | Next opponent: @ Licking Valley

The Bulldogs are off to a hot start, having outscored their first two opponents 73-24, cumulatively. The road ahead, however, is treacherous: five of Bloom-Carroll’s next seven opponents made the playoffs last year.

2.) Amanda-Clearcreek Aces 1-1 (0-0) | Last rank: 2 | Next opponent: Vs. Jonathan Alder

The Aces have an efficient offense which features a prolific rushing attack, which has accounted for most of its points. However, defense continues to be a blaring issue. The Aces have allowed 70 points through two games.

3.) Fairfield Union Falcons 1-1 (0-0) | Last rank: 3 | Next opponent: Vs. Vinton County

The Falcons finish last among these three teams because of a lethargic offense which is averaging seven points per contest.

Scioto Valley Conference

1.) Unioto Sherman Tanks 2-0 (0-0) | Last rank: 2 | Next opponent: @ Waverly

The Unioto Shermans are a powerhouse in the SVC that have consistently displayed mastery in “run it down your throat” football. In its 54-26 victory against McClain, Unioto rushed for a whopping 540 yards and six touchdowns.

2.) Zane Trace Pioneers 2-0 (0-0) | Last rank: 1 | Next opponent: Vs. McClain

The Pioneers have a very similar style of play to Unioto and have been propelled by the dynamic duo of quarterback Joel Dunkle and fullback Truman Love. Together, Dunkle and Love have accumulated 442 yards rushing and seven touchdowns
