Lampkins Wins Player of the Week

Quiera Lampkins was named MAC East Player of the Week Monday for her performances on Dec. 3 against IPFW and Dec. 6 against St. Francis (Pa.).
The junior guard totaled 35 points and shot 72.2 percent from the field over those two games. Against the Mastadons, Lampkins scored 14 points to go along with six rebounds, four assists and a block.
Her performance against St. Francis was even more impressive, though. In 27 minutes, Lampkins dashed the Red Flash for 21 points, four rebounds and four steals.
“Number-wise I thought she played really good for us the first four games and she just didn’t score,” Ohio head coach Bob Bolden said after Ohio’s game against St. Francis. “But she does a lot for our offense and she is very, very valuable. She just seems more valuable tonight on a night where she scores 21 points and has four steals and two assists.”
Lampkins and the Bobcats travel to Pittsburgh to take on Duquesne Sunday.
