The Chillicothe Gazette reports that 48-year-old James Valentine, allegedly attempted to pay for his purchase at the restaurant with a counterfeit $50 bill. Police were called to the Dairy Queen on N. High Street after an employee noticed they were handed counterfeit money.
The employee provided a description of the vehicle the patron was in to police, and a vehicle matching that description and driven by Valentine, was stopped on S. Mulberry Street.
Officers searched Valentine’s vehicle and found four counterfeit bills, three $20 bills and a $50 bill.
Valentine reportedly told officers he was paid with that money for doing some concrete work, and he was “just trying to get rid of it.”
