Ohio Falls in Final Non-Conference Game
< < Back to ohio-falls-in-final-non-conference-gameAfter losing two straight and three out of their last four, the Ohio Bobcats were looking to change their luck in their last non-conference game of the season. This was not the case however, as Ohio fell to Michigan State 3-1.
The Bobcats never had a chance in this game after falling behind 1-0 just four minutes into the game and 2-0 eight minutes later. With a struggling offense that had scored just five goals in four games, that early deficit proved to be too much to overcome.
The Bobcats lone goal came in the in the 24th minute when Brittany Keen scored her sixth goal of the season, which came off a Kendall Ballard assist. After that goal the score remained at 2-1 for another 20 minutes with neither team giving an inch until Megan Fenton finally broke through for Michigan State, putting the game out of reach.
After having the best game of her career in a double overtime loss, goalie Alex Pennington once again had another great game in losing effort for the Bobcats, making 10 saves. With today’s saves Pennington, may be going through the best short stretch of her career with 27 saves over the past two games.
The Bobcats next play Miami (OH) at 12:30 next Saturday.
