Jay Edwards Wins 94th District Representative Seat
< < Back to jay-edwards-wins-94th-district-representative-seatRepublican Jay Edwards won the 94th District Representative race against Democrat Sarah Grace, according to unofficial election results.
Edwards won 58 percent to 42 percent with just over 80 percent of the precincts reporting.
He stopped by the Athens County Republican Headquarters to celebrate his victory Tuesday night.
“It just means so much to me,” Edwards said. “I am very humbled and honored that the voters trusted in me to get me their vote.”
According to Edwards, he now plans to get to work on his campaign promises.
“Now the real work starts,” he said. “I’m packing my lunch pail and we’re going to get to work.”
He plans to get the Appalachian Caucus back together and try to solve issues, like the drug epidemic, in the district.
Edwards said his goal is to be as non-partisan as possible as he works with other representatives to solve these problems.
“We’re going to try to look over party lines and get something done for Southeast Ohio,” said Edwards.
