Alexander Duels Fed Hock In The Alley

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. The Spartans boy’s basketball team took down the Lancers on Tuesday night with a final score of 55 to 23.
This matchup was the start of the season for Federal Hocking. Alexander (1-1) came into this game with a loss against Southeastern in their first game of the season.
Alexander’s Head Coach Jim Kearns has the opportunity to coach his son J.K. this season. J.K. stood out tonight with 13 points; 9 of which were 3-pointers’. Overall, scoring was evenly distributed amongst the team. The top five scorers had an average of 9.6 points each on the night.
A big part of Federal Hocking’s demise was the amount of turnovers that they had throughout the game. The Lancers had 26 turnovers; 16 of which were in the first half.
Though it was a tough loss for the Lancers, they fought hard all night. Freshman Nate Massie proved to be a key player for Federal Hocking with a total of 10 points on the night. Another bright spot for the Lancers was Sophomore Brad Russel, who had 12 rebounds.
Federal Hocking’s next opponent is the Meigs Marauders at home on Friday, December 8th. As for the Spartans, their next game will be on Friday, December 8th at Wellston.
