Trimble Tomcats Fight off the Federal Hocking Lancers
< < Back toThe Federal Hocking Lancers (2-15), (2-11) struggled to compete with the first place Trimble Tomcats (13-4), (10,2) tonight in Glouster, Ohio. Trimble came out victorious in their home gym with a final score of 58 to 34.
Tomcat star shooter Randy Hixon put up the most points for Trimble with 24 points on the night. Max Hooper proved to be a versatile player for the Tomcats with 11 points, six rebounds, four assists, and four steals.
Tonight’s matchup was also an opportunity for younger Trimble players to come off of the bench and stand out on the court. Players like Sam Ives, Zach Duffey and Landon Wisor put points on the board for Trimble and were on and off the court all night.
Turnovers were a big problem for the Lancers with a total of 12 throughout the evening. Nate Massie led the team in rebounds with five. Hunter Smith was the team’s leading scorer after putting up 10 points, and Brad Russel wasn’t far behind with a total of nine points.
The Tomcats hope to keep their six game winning streak alive as they face off against the Miller Falcons (11-7), (9-5) on Friday, February 9 at Miller. Federal Hocking’s next game is also on Friday night at Wahama (4-12), (3-12).
