Dionne Warwick: then Came You (My Music) — Saturday, August 18 @ 9 p.m.

Grateful Dead — Downhill From Here — Saturday, August 18 @ 10:30 p.m.

In July of 1989, when Grateful Dead — Downhill From Here was filmed, the band was in peak form. In less than a year longtime keyboardist Brent Mydland would succumb to the freewheeling party culture that had developed around the band over the course of the ’80s, tragically passing away of a fatal mixture of cocaine and morphine after a wildly successful summer tour with the band.

This special documents the extraordinary phenomena that was the Grateful Dead throughout their peak tenure: a blend of undeniably well-curated music from throughout the group’s career playfully mixed in with the remnants of the counterculture of the ’60s that originally spawned the group. Filmed at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre near East Troy, Wisconsin, the venue was one of the favorite haunts of deadheads, serving as one of the premiere and longstanding venues that exemplified the essence of a Grateful Dead show and documenting a very special night in the middle of the woods some 30 years ago.
