Although one might not readily know Jerry DePizzo’s name, they are most certainly aware of his work. DePizzo is the saxophonist for O.A.R., alternative rock giants responsible for hits such as “Love and Memories” and “Hey Girl.” Earlier this year O.A.R. released The Mighty, and the band just finished recording a live album that will be released later this year.

Unbeknownst to many of us, DePizzo is also one of the owners of Athens’ beloved Big Mama’s Burritos, which will celebrate it’s grand opening with new management on Tuesday, September 17 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with one dollar burritos.

WOUB spoke to DePizzo the day before the grand opening about how rock ‘n’ roll and burritos have a lot more in common than one would think.
