OU to Offer Early Retirement Options to Faculty and Custodial Staff

Ohio University plans to offer voluntary retirement packages to faculty and custodial staff as part of cost-cutting measures being undertaken by the university.
The board approved the plan at its meeting today.
During a discussion with the Board of Trustees on Thursday, the administration said the university’s finances are in good shape because of a reserve fund the board approved last year along with the various moves being made to trim expenses.
The university plans to start offering early retirement opportunities on or around February 3.
