Ohio State Old Time Fiddlers Contest returns to Stuart’s Aug. 18
< < Back to ohio-state-old-time-fiddlers-contest-returns-to-stuarts-aug-18NELSONVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio State Old Time Fiddlers Contest returns to Stuart’s Opera House Friday, August 18 at 6 p.m.
Registration is available online by going to paradeofthehills.org/fiddlers or you can register when you arrive the day of the contest. There is no entry fee.
Check begins at 4 p.m. on the ground floor of Stuart’s, and the actual playing starts at 6 p.m. Enter through the gate on the Washington Street entrance. That’s just around the corner from the Opera House entrance on the Square.
The Public Square is off limits to traffic and parking can be difficult. The Presbyterian Church on Washington Street is just about a block from Stuart’s Opera House and is offering parking spots to fiddlers – first come, first served.
Tickets for those who would like to be in the audience are $10.

Fiddlers compete in four age groups: 12 and under, 13-18, 19-54, 55+.
13-18, 19-54 and 55+ compete for:
1st place – $300 and a plaque
2nd place – $200 and a medal
3rd place – $100 and a medal
12 and under complete for:
1st place – $75 and a plaque
2nd place – $50 and a medal
3rd place $26 and a medal
The Grand Champion will receive $300 and a plaque.
