Here are the unofficial 2023 General Election results for Athens County

ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio (WOUB) – Here are the unofficial results for contested races and local issues in Athens County.

Democrat Steve Patterson earned a position as Mayor of the City of Athens with 81% of the vote. Damon Krane earned 19% of the vote.

Rita C. Nguyen, Nancy Sonick and Justin Booth earned positions as members of council at large of the City of Nelsonville. Nguyen earned 19% of the vote, Sonick earned 19% of the vote, Booth earned 17% of the vote. Anthony Dunfee earned 16% of the vote, Douglas M. Childs earned 16% of the vote, and Daniel L. Sherman earned 13% of the vote.

Curtis Mark Rood and Tiffany Rife Oman earned positions as members of council in the Village of Coolville Rood earned 34% of the vote and Oman earned 19% of the vote. Thomas Leo Todd, Jr. earned 18.5% of the vote, June Tanner earned 18% of the vote and Frankie Dale Rife earned 11% of the vote.

Samantha Sikorski earned a position as Mayor of the Village of Glouster with 47% of the vote. Jon D. Stevens earned 28% of the vote. Jerry L. Lenigar earned 25% of the vote.

Gary Clair Sayers earned a position as the Township Trustee of the Township of Ames with 53% of the vote. Lyle Fuller earned 47% of the vote.

Ranson Calaway earned a position as the Township Trustee of the Township of Carthage with 56% of the vote. Gene Griffis earned 44% of the vote.

Kevin Gwinn earned a position as the Township Trustee of the Township of Lodi with 52% of the vote. Bryan Ford earned 48% of the vote.

John L. Young, Jr. earned a position as the Township Trustee of the Township of Rome with 55% of the vote. John Poston earned 45% of the vote.

Dusty Murphy earned a position as the Township Trustee of the Township of Trimble with 34% of the vote. Brad Lowry earned 31% of the vote. Brian Metcalf earned 18% of the vote. Robert H. Funk, Jr. earned 17% of the vote.

Matt Miller earned a position as the Township Trustee of the Township of Troy with 39% of the vote. Leroy Guess earned 29% of the vote. George Nelson Gilbert earned 18% of the vote. Jim Buckley earned 14% of the vote.

Stephen Crook and Blake Regan earned positions as members of the Board of Education of Alexander Local School District. Crook earned 38% of the vote and Regan earned 32% of the vote. Lucy DeLaval Juedes earned 30% of the vote.

Daniel Torrence and Jenny Leigh earned positions as members of the Board of Education of Federal Hocking Local School District. Torrence earned 40% of the vote and Leigh earned 30% of the vote. Lynne Genter earned 20% of the vote and Crystal I. Bolin earned 10% of the vote.

Kayla Simons and David Owen earned positions as members of the Board of Education of Trimble Local School District. Simons earned 47% of the vote and Owen earned 35% of the vote. David Alex Jajczyk earned 18% of the vote.

Debbie West and Jesse C. Roush earned positions as members of the Board of Education of Warren Local School District. West earned 50% of the vote and Roush earned 29% of the vote. Adam J. Wynn earned 17% of the vote and Collin Yost earned 4% of the vote.

Voters in Dover Township approved a fire protection levy by a vote of 696 to 280, a cemeteries levy by a vote of 589 to 388 and a road maintenance levy by a vote of 537 to 274.

Voters in Waterloo Township approved a cemetery levy by a vote of 524 to 266.

In Trimble Township, voters approved a road maintenance levy by a vote of 317 to 174 along with a cemeteries levy by a vote of 716 to 370.

Voters in York Township approved a fire levy by a vote of 487 to 191.

The Athens City School District Bond Issue passed by a vote of 4,658 to 3,349.

Voters in the Alexander Local School District rejected a income tax levy by a vote of 1,861 to 1,647.

In Athens County voters approved a EMS levy by a vote of 10,508 to 6,430.

Voters in Amesville Village approved a current expenses levy by a vote of 62 to 16.

In Buchtel Village voters approved a current expense levy by a vote of 137 to 45 as well as a police protection levy by a vote of 132 to 49.

Voters in Jacksonville Village and Trimble Village approved gas aggregation by a vote of 55 to 52 and 37 to 35 respectively.
