ATHENS, OH – For its 25th season, Gridiron Glory (GG) is expanding this year’s Media Day to invite media from around the region to the Ohio University campus to interview players and coaches from roughly 60 high school football teams across Southeast Ohio. In the past, only Gridiron Glory staff participated in the event. It will be held on Sunday, August 18.

“Media Day is a great opportunity to build relationships with the teams and provide time to speak outside of the standard football setting. Media Day is designed to be a fun experience for the players and allow WOUB, and now other media outlets, to create content to be used through the season,” said Gridiron Glory Producer Parker Kopronica. “Gridiron Glory Media Day is an opportunity for the high school football players of Southeast Ohio to get media coverage they deserve, while also helping reporters learn about the teams they will be covering this season.”

For the first time, a press conference will be held for each team. Players will also have their pictures taken. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Gridiron Glory’s mission to provide high-level coverage across southeast Ohio that goes beyond Friday nights, and Media Day is a unique experience that gives our staff the opportunity to work directly with players and coaches while honing their skills as journalists,” said Kopronica. “Media Day is one of our many initiatives aimed at providing extensive coverage that bridges the gap until game day. We will use the time to continue our in-depth coverage throughout the season. Most importantly, it’s a time for teams to let their guards down and have some fun off the field, while receiving our signature high-level coverage.”
