Maysville Rights The Ship, Tramples Morgan
< < Back to ?p=13752The Maysville Panthers were on the prowl for a win Friday after losing to Sheridan in week 5. They were successful in a 63-0 shutout of Morgan at Panther Stadium.
C.J. Harris and Jordan Hayes ran wild on the Raiders with 207 rushing yards on the night.
Halfway through the first quarter, Maysville got the momentum rolling with 69-yard scoring drive, culminating in a 6-yard touchdown by Chase Roberts. The score was one of the two touchdowns the Panthers had in the first quarter.
The Maysville defense shut down the Raiders in the first half, not allowing them to cross midfield until late in the second quarter. Morgan was unable to establish the ground game; the Raiders had 40 rushing yards in the first half.
Maysville kept the high intensity throughout the second quarter, putting two more touchdowns on the board before halftime. The Panthers scored 35 points in the second half to cruise to victory.
Maysville kept Morgan under 100 yards rushing for the game.
Maysville (6-1, 4-1 MVL) travels to take on the John Glenn Little Muskies (4-3, 2-3) Friday, Oct. 18. Morgan (0-6, 0-5) will host the Crooksville Ceramics (3-4, 2-3).
