Nelsonville-York smashes Wellston at home; Stays alive in TVC-Ohio race
< < Back to ?p=276893WELLSTON, Ohio (WOUB) — A fully healthy Nelsonville-York Buckeyes (9-8) squad hit the road to take on the Wellston Rockets (4-12).
It was a close first half as the score was 28-21 with Mackenzie Hurd scoring 16 points.
The second half the Buckeyes came out and got hot and stayed hot. The Buckeyes quickly tripled their score in the quarter.
The second half all the Buckeyes starters all shown out, Cayleigh Dupler had 12 points shooting 4-7 from three, Mackenzie Hurd had 10 points and four assists, Ariah Lavy had a great game too as she finished with 20 points, and Brooklyn Richards went 6-7 for 12 points in the second half.
NY leading scorers Hurd and Lavy combined for 44 points.
In the second half NY was nailing a lot of their shots as they shot 70.3% for the half.
NY (10-8) hopes to bounce back and come back to win the TVC-Ohio as they play the Trimble Tomcats on the road at 4:30. Wellston (4-13) will look to bounce back against Vinton County.
