Reward May Increase In Three Year Old Licking County Murder Case
< < Back to reward-may-increase-three-year-old-licking-county-murder-caseOn the three year anniversary of a Licking County murder, Heath Police Chief Tony Shepherd wants to increase the reward offered to anyone with information in the case.
Dondi Hickman was found strangled to death in her mobile home on January 18, 2009.
Police say they do not have enough evidence to make an arrest in the case, which is why Shepherd wants to add $5000 to the current $1000 reward.
"We're looking for that person who can tell us that little bit more that we need. Even though we have a suspect, we are not prepared to start a prosecution," says Shepherd.
Shepherd will bring his proposal for the reward increase to the Heath City Council on Monday.
Having discussed his plans with Heath Mayor Mark Johns, Shepherd thinks there is a good chance council will approve the reward increase.
"I spoke with the mayor and asked if he would support doing so. He certainly agreed that that would be something that probably all of council would be supportive of," says Shepherd.
Shepherd encourages those who know more about Hickman's death to contact the Heath Police Department.
