Crooksville vs. West Muskingum

The Crooksville (2-3, 1-2) offense came to play on Friday night, taking care of the West Muskingum Tornadoes (1-4, 0-4) 56-34.

The Ceramics started quickly with Chaz Love and Daulton Finck each recording rushing touchdowns to put Crooksville up 13-0 seven minutes before the half.

West Muskingum took advantage of the time remaining in a big way, recording two quick scores, including an 84-yard Cameron Strauss touchdown reception, to pull ahead 14-13. The score would stand at 21 all going into the break.

Crooksville then scored six minutes into the second half, spurring a 35-13 “run” to finish out the game.

Crooksville will take on Philo (3-2, 2-1) next week at home while West Muskingum will travel to Tri-Valley (4-1, 3-0).

Sheridan vs. Morgan

Sheridan’s (3-2, 2-0) dynamic rushing duo was unstoppable Friday night.

Seniors Ben Rhodes and Deryk Groose rushed for a combined 226 yards in a 45-7 victory over the Morgan Raiders (0-5, 0-2).

Sheridan’s offense was rolling from the get-go, scoring all of its touchdowns in the first half of the game, including two Rhodes touchdowns in the first quarter alone.

But he wasn’t done yet, surging into the end zone once more in the second quarter, finishing with 130 rushing yards. Groose finished with 96 yards and a 25-yard rushing score of his own.

Aside of the rushing game, Sheridan Coach Paul Culver was pleased with how his team passed the ball.

“We threw the ball a little better tonight, which was a confidence boost for Dylan (Dupler),” Culver said.

Dupler completed two of his four passes for 30 yards.

Next week, the Generals are looking for another conference win against the Maysville Panthers while Morgan will search for win No. 1 against John Glenn.
