Week In Review: Alexander Spartans Come Through Break With Momentum

In their first matchup of the tournament, the Spartans faced the Western Indians. Alexander won the battle against the Indians with a final score of 51-41.
In the second game, the Spartans lost in a heartbreaker against the Waverly Tigers. The team lost in overtime by only a basket, resulting in a 54-52 final score.
As for the girls, this week, the Alexander Lady Spartans had a pause in play for the holidays and will resume on Jan. 4 against Dawson-Bryant in Albany.
But last week the team rang victorious in their TVC-Ohio matchup’s against Meigs and Wellston.
Most recently, Alexander traveled to Wellston for the first time this season and ran way with a 61-47 win against the Lady Rockets. In the last four matchups between the two teams, the Lady Spartans are 4-0. Alexander has also outscored the team 213-138 in points.
The Lady Spartans bounced back after a tough loss to Vinton County, which holds first place in the TVC-Ohio standings. Alexander had another sound game against Meigs with a 57-39 victory at home. The Lady Spartans are also undefeated against the Lady Marauders in their last three matchups.
Just two days prior to Christmas, Alexander played one final game before the holiday against the Oak Hill Lady Oaks. The Lady Spartans took home the win with a final score of 42-34.
