Meigs County Primary 2020 Results Of Contested Races

MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio (WOUB) — 4,609 Meigs County residents cast votes in the virus-extended primary.

Republican Shannon Miller unseated county commissioner Randy Smith, with 2079 votes to Smith’s 1,517.  In the second commissioner’s race, Gary Coleman’s 1,197 votes lost to incumbent Jimmy Will’s 2,351 votes.

Four different Republicans ran for the county recorder’s office once Kay Hill announced her retirement. Huey Eason’s 1,457 votes bested Jimmy Stewart’s 1,375, Adam Will’s 517, and Tony Carnahan’s 294.

Republican Peggy Yost defeated her challenger Bonne Kreseen 2369 to 1275 to retain her role as county treasurer.
