Meigs Senior Coulter Cleland leads by example against River Valley

POMEROY, Ohio (WOUB) – Coming off a 22-day hiatus due to COVID and weather cancellations, the Meigs Marauders came back home to Pomeroy to host the River Valley Raiders in a game that went down to the wire.
In this match-up, Meigs faced a true challenge to see if this long break would have an effect on the court.
In the 1st half, the Raiders were shooting all lights out, making baskets in any amount of pressure. The Marauders, however, were struggling to find their stride.
Coming into the 2nd half, Meigs started to shed their rust and shine. Senior Coulter Cleland would drop 26 points on the night, doing most of his scoring in the paint and picking up fouls.
Additionally, Cleland’s work on the boards was critical as he tallied 13 total rebounds, 10 of which were on the offensive side. With this momentum shift, Meigs would capture this conference win, 68-62.
