Austin Osborne Crowned Gridiron Glory Player of the Year
< < Back to austin-osborne-crowned-gridiron-glory-player-yearAfter 13 weeks of high school football, which included releasing a top 15 “Player of the Year” candidate list and cutting that list down to six, Gridiron Glory has finally revealed it’s 2011 “Player of the Year” winner.
The contest netted 1,500 votes from the community and Gridiron Glory named Jackson Ironmen quarterback Austin Osborne as 2011's "Player of the Year." This season, Osborne had more than 2,100 all-purpose yards, 32 touchdowns and a 63% completion rate.
The Wellston transfer led the Ironmen to a perfect 10-0 regular season record and a SEOAL title, not to mention a playoff berth in Division III, Region 12. The Ironmen battled former SEOAL foe Athens in the first round of the playoffs. Osborne led the Ironmen to easy 27-7 victory over the Bulldogs to improve to 11-0.
